Emma Kinghorn

SUMO4Schools Consultant

Emma is a fully qualified teacher in Primary Education with Creative and Expressive Arts as a specialism. She has over six years experience as Primary Art and Design Subject Leader and is a fully qualified Arts Award Advisor. She has experience of teaching in Early Years Foundation Stage and Key Stage Two, and is passionate about digital and outdoor learning.

Emma has a wealth of experience in lesson planning; training professionals in school and community settings; promoting emotional well-being and building resilience in schools; planning how to implement whole school change in mainstream Primary and Secondary Schools, Special Schools and Alternative Provisions. She also has experience delivering online peer support programmes in Primary and Secondary Schools.

Emma was SUMO trained by Paul McGee, and also completed Paul’s Masterclass presentation training. Emma has planned Primary SUMO lessons, and trained staff in SUMO in primary Schools, Secondary Schools, Special Schools and Alternative Provisions. She has also trained community groups.

At the moment she is also creating online digital resources for a SUMO-themed writing programme in the UK and US.
