It’s OK to not be OK.
It’s OK to feel mad, bad or sad. No feeling is wrong. The ‘Hippo Time is OK’ principle make it clear that having some time out when life’s challenges hit us is absolutely fine; we all need that sometimes, and need to give ourselves space and time to think and respond carefully to what has happened.
But our Hippo Time needs to be temporary, and the ‘Hippo Time is OK’ principle uses a set of seven questions to support us on the road to recovery.
We are not machines. We can’t just pull a lever and make everything OK. Hippo Time is something we all need to do, but it’s part of your journey. It’s not meant to be your destination.
